In October 2024, a Warsaw University of Technology team held an internship at the Delft University of Technology. The group, consisting of Kamil Dydek, Anna Czajka, Michał Misiak, Anna Łabęda, and Daria Rutkowska, collaborated with researchers from TU Delft, and the work was coordinated by Nan Tao, Otto Bergsma, and Roger Groves. The visit focused on nondestructive testing of polymer composites with implemented carbon-based sensors. GFRP laminates with CNT-doped strips working as heaters in thermography and shearography techniques were tested. In addition, impact tests were carried out and verified using non-destructive techniques, including the ultrasonic method. Based on the results, a joint publication within the COMP-ECO project is planned to be prepared.
During the stay, the group from WUT also had the opportunity to receive training in the shearography method, which was conducted by Andrei Anisimov. The participants of the training learned about the theoretical issues of the method itself, how it works and its limitations, as well as about the analysis of the results obtained.
